Our Reserve Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot - Silent Range Estate - Glenrowan

Silent Range Estate is a small vineyard and a cellar door nestled on the Warby Range in North East Victoria, specialising in merlot, sauvignon blanc and shiraz with distinctive Glenrowan characteristics.

Owner Lisbeth Long shares her recipe for this delicious spicy soup best served with crusty sourdough and a glass of Silent Range Estate Sauvignon Blanc.

Serves 4

  • half a pumpkin
  • 2 red onions
  • a bottle of preserved whole tomatoes or tinned if unavailable
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • curry powder or red curry paste to taste
  • dollop of cream, sour cream or natural yoghurt

  1. Coarsely chop the pumpkin, onions, whole tomatoes and garlic, place with a cup of water and spice of choice in an appropriately sized saucepan and cook on a slow heat until all vegetables soft.
  2. Using a stick blender or food processor blend all ingredients together and add the dairy product of choice in order to achieve the desired consistency.
  3. Serve with a dollop of sour cream or natural yoghurt on top along with a side of warm crusty bread. And of course, raise a glass of Silent Range Estate Sauvignon Blanc to finish the dish.
