Lone wombat foraging for food - Central Highlands Tasmania Wildlife Group

Fine wine takes time, such is the philosophy that's been entrenched at Huntington Estate for fifty years. Emerging now after four years evolving into fine red wines are these delicious drops from the vineyards of Mudgee.

We're also supporting volunteers in Tassie's Central Highlands, out in all kinds of weather making sure those who survived summer's bushfires can survive until the new growth has flourished.

And we have some brand new books, all diverse and hot off the press including a great book on Australian native ingredients.

Here's a quick run through on the prizes you could win:

  • Four mixed half cases of fine red wine from Huntington Estate:  Winter is the time for red wine and firelight so make sure you add some finesse to your fireside relaxing or cold night feasting. These wines have spent the last four years developing complexity and elegance and are ready for a swirl in your favourite wine glass... in front of a dancing fire of course! Enter now for your chance to win fine red wine »
  • Six twin packs of Tasmanian Milford Pinot Noir each worth $80 plus postage: if you love wildlife and wine, then this is for you. They survived the bushfires but they might not survive winter without our help. Wombats, wallabies, possums and all the wild animals that call this wild and spectacular part of the state home are being fed on the ground (brrrr) by volunteers to help them get through winter. The scorched earth has't regenerated and won't now until at least spring. Donate now and enter the draw to win Tassie wine as a thank you »

  • The Crow Eaters by Ben Stubbs: This book will hit bookshops in early August and we have three copies stowed away, just for you!  If you're travelling to, or live in, Suoth Australia, The Crow Eaters will uncover a myriad of aspects about this state. The places, the people, the myths and truths, are all included in a book that takes you from where Great Whites swim to where the Murray Cods began their conquering quest. All told with an easy and highly engaging manner.  Three copies to be won »
  • On Eating Meat  by Matthew Evans. Is this one of the most important food books of recent years? Another thought-provoking book from The Gourmet Farmer, someone who experiences first hand the raising of animals and plants for food. Prepare to be confronted and prompted to think deeper about the diet and the debate that currently rages between vegans and farmers. Let the conversations begin!  Two copies of On Eating Meat on offer »
  • Gloriously Gluten Free by Frédérique Jules: what happens when the head of acclaimed bakery and restaurant  Noglu realises he's gluten and lactose intolerant? He makes cakes, and desserts, and pastires of course! But all with his and many others distress at losing access to the sweeter things in life in mind. 80 recipes and 80 delicious sweet treats, cakes, tarts and desserts - yum! Even if you don't have the condition, the cakes still taste great and you can easily wow your GF friends too! Enter now to win Gloriously Gluten Free »
