Oliver's Taranga in McLaren Vale has been a winemaking family for six generations so it's no surprise some traditions have grown over that time. One is the naming of wines after family members and the latest to be honoured is 6th generation Oliver, Brioni.

The wine's label also continues another tradition, 'The Year That...' and of course a continuation of creating superb wines.

Oliver's Taranga has 300 acres of premium grapevines over 50 blocks which represent different grape types, clones, soil types and vine ages. This gives them great scope for their Small Batch range, made each vintage from the strongest fruit on the block. They're wines that express the variety and the vintage conditions.

Brioni's Blend is such a wine and a new release. The famous Portuguese variety Touriga was grafted over an old Merlot block in 2016.Touriga is super juicy and floral, so it was blended it with structured Mataro and generous Shiraz....and Brioni’s Blend was born!

2018 - The Year That... Brioni was called ‘a great forklift driver for a girl’

Brioni is our number one forklift driver at Oliver’s Taranga, and she is a proper gun. The team never tires of watching the shocked faces of random truck drivers as they discover that (a) a girl is going to load their truck, and (b) that she is better than most other forklift drivers they come across, boy or girl!  #winechicksrule
