Willie Smiths Organic cider

Willie Smith's Organic Cider hails from Tasmania's beautiful Huon Valley, a place once home to a thriving apple industry that saw apples shipped around the world.

In 1888 the Smith family was part of all this and since then has stayed the course for four generations. With their Raw Organics apples being the only organic apples supplied nationally to Woolworths, they thought it was time to turn their hands to cider.

Willie Smith's Organic Cider takes its inspiration from the traditional cider making techniques of Northern France.

Willie Smiths' Organic Cider

Light and refreshing acidity married with rounded warm apple flavours and a notable tannin structure create a perfectly balanced palate and a easy cleansing finish.

The aroma holds red apple, toasty oak and rounded buttery notes; flavours that are mirrored on the palate.

Overall, the cider has bags of complexity and structure allowing it to be engaging and yet worthy of great contemplation.

Serving suggestion: ro fully bring out the flavour, it should be poured into a glass and served slightly warmer than fridge temperature (approx. 8°C) and definitely NOT over ice.

Alc/vol: 5.4%

A$99.99 per case (24 x 330ml bottles, direct online, plus delivery)

Willie Smith's Bone Dry Organic Cider

Willie Smiths Bone Dry is an English style cider, was inspired by Rowl and Sam’s visit to Somerset and Herefordshire in summer 2013, attempting to get to the more traditional 'real cider' direction, rather than sweet and fruity.

Fermented out to dry, it is oak aged and vat conditioned for 3 months giving a super dry flavour profile with a smooth clean finish.

Alc/vol: 6.9%

Matched well with Salmon smolt and Tamar Valley Truffle salt at the Rare Food & Cider event, held as part of Savour Tasmania 2014 »
