The King Valley is reminiscent of northern Italy with its vineyards on picturesque hills and a typical Italian welcoming culture. Lovers of prosecco, a delicious sparkling white wine, can now follow a new wine and food trail down King Valley's Prosecco Road.

Otto Dal Zotto started things in 2000 when he planted the first vines, reminding him of his childhood in Valdobbiadene, the birthplace of prosecco.

Soon after other local wine-growers followed his lead and the King Valley, or more precisely Prosecco Road, is now renowned for this fresh and crisp sparkling white wine.

Prosecco lovers, these are for you:

Dal Zotto L'Immigrante Prosecco 2010

Pale straw, yet youthful for an aged style of prosecco, hinting at the serious nature of the style; the bouquet delves into a touch of toasty
complexity, underpinned by ample levels of pear, and struck quartz mineral complexity.

The palate reveals the complete story, with generous mouth filling bubbles on entry, zesty citrus fruit on the mid palate, and inviting blanched almonds on the dry and chalky finish; beautifully constructed and a fitting tribute to Otto's heritage.

RRP A$36.00 bottle

Dal Zotto Pucino Prosecco NV

Pale straw, vivid green youthful hue; tantalizing hints of fresh cut pear, citrus blossom and a mere suggestion of spice jump out and present themselves on the bouquet.

Tthe palate is soft, appealing, approachable and basically a whole lot of fun, with gentle bubbles and alcohol combining seamlessly, and offering the maximum amount of freshness for a drink early, enjoy and not necessarily in moderation style of sparkling wine; a spot on example of Prosecco.

RRP A$18.50 bottle

Sam Miranda Prosecco 2010

A generous bead of bubbles with a pale straw colour, green apple aromas on the nose. Soft on the palate with a sherbet like acidity that finishes crisp and refreshingwith a touch of complexity.

A great style for summer and celebrations.

RRP A$25.00 bottle

Chrismont Prosecco NV

This wine is pale straw-coloured with green hues. The nose is citrus, melon, green apple, almonds and honey and the front palate bursts open with dry, delicately flavoured bubbles.

A crisp but not overly acid palate supports the bubbles through to the finish.

Food: A great aperitivo and is also an ideal accompaniment to seafood particularly oysters, scallops, and crab.

RRP A$22.00 bottle

Brown Brothers Prosecco NV

This is the first release of Prosecco NV and sits alongside the vintage Limited Release to complete the Prosecco range.

It has a straw colour with subtle green hues and a delicate nose displaying pear and apple characters. While this wine retains the freshness and vibrancy that Prosecco is known for, the fruit for this NV release was picked later to provide a softer, rounder palate full of crisp citrus notes.

This refreshing sparkling is made to drink young while at its light and delicate best.

RRP A$17.90 bottle
