Established in 1860 Tahbilk is one of Australia's most beautiful & historic wineries. Located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria (120kms north of Melbourne), one of the nation's premium viticultural areas, the property comprises some 1,214 hectares of rich river flats with a frontage of 11 kms to the Goulburn River and 8 kms of permanent backwaters & creeks.
The Cellar Door tasting is a MUST if visiting the winery! Held in the original winery you will be well looked after by our lovely staff as you try a range of different Tahbilk wines on offer.
Take a journey back through time as you wander around the historic cellar door and then head downstairs to the old underground cellars which are classified by the National Trust and are still in use. They recommend you wear sturdy footwear for getting up and down the stairs and in the underground cellars as sometimes it can be a bit wet. There is plenty of space to wander around both upstairs and downstairs if you are a large group however please let them know you plan on visiting just in case the cellars are closed for winery work.
Built in 2005 on the Tahbilk backwaters the Tahbilk Cafe is one of the newer additions to the historic Estate. At Tahbilk Cafe they believe in knowing where their produce comes from. They work hard with a number of local suppliers to get the very freshest produce to your plate through their evolving menu, and their guarantee to you is that they use the best ingredients they can find, cooked with both expertise and love.
