Best's Great Western Bin 1 Shiraz 2008

Reaquaint yourself with this classic well structured shiraz -  balanced, elegant and approachable. Given the scarcity of Best’s Thomson Family Shiraz and Bin O Shiraz, the Bin 1 Shiraz has become the wine that often gives people their first taste of the Best’s Great Western Shiraz style. Bin 1 is a classic, cool climate, aromatic shiraz, made in a style that is floral, spicy and peppery, yet well balanced with no overt dominance of alcohol.

This wine is rich, inky red in colour with purple hues.  Its vibrantly lifted aromatics display fresh red berries and purple fruit, with a classic cool climate pepper and spice, and delicate floral characters.

The palate is rich and juicy wine with layers of generous flavour and complexity. Luscious, up front characters of freshly picked red cherry and raspberry melds into more developed plum, blackberry, pepper and spice. The palate is long and mouth filling with great mid palate generosity, rolling tannins and wonderfully integrated oak. A classic Great Western, cool climate ready to drink shiraz.

Best's Great Western Chardonnay 2008

Chardonnay was one of the varietals planted first in the Concongella Vineyard in the 1970’s and Best’s winemaker Adam Wadewitz has shown his considerable skill, experience and passion for making this wine.

It is pale straw, white gold in colour and has a very delicate bouquet with lifted aromas of peach and hints of melon and passionfruit. Juicy peach and honey dew melon flavours blend seemlessly with touches of green apple, brioche, and it has a crisp acidity. A hint of new French oak integrates well in to this nicely balanced very drinkable chardonnay.

Cellaring:  Now until 2015

Alc/Vol  13.5%

RRP  A$25
