Just last week, De Bortoli took home a swag of Trophies, Gold and Silver Medals at Decanter World Wine Awards and the 2013 International Wine Challenge. Windy Peak’s Heathcote Shiraz being named amongst Matthew Jukes Top 100 Wines for 2013, completed the company’s hat-trick for the month of May.

This isn’t the first win for Windy Peak Heathcote Shiraz, the 2012 vintage was also awarded a Gold Medal at the 2013 Berlin Wine Show.

Within his review, Matthew Jukes highlights the characteristics of Heathcote alive in the Windy Peak Shiraz and describes it as “a gorgeous wine with intent and accuracy.” Following a glowing reference on the wine’s “bright blueberry fruit, tell-tale Heathcote earthiness and dried herb nuances,” Jukes sums up his critique with a simple, “Bloody impressive.”

De Bortoli Wines Export Director, Victor De Bortoli, believes this series of recent wins reinforces the family’s philosophy of making wines with a ‘sense of place’ and will make a positive impression with consumers. Victor explains “We’re very fortunate to have been recognised by such an influential wine writer as Matthew Jukes. For a long standing, quality brand to continually receive recognition such as this, it really demonstrates the appeal of regionality within our wines.”

In early 2012, the Windy Peak range underwent a label re-vamp, with an increased focus on expressing the character in each of the regions where Windy Peak is produced. Matthew Jukes full review of the Windy Peak Heathcote Shiraz 2012 can be found at
